DEPARTMENT OF UROLOGY AND RENAL TRANSPLANTATION

Introduction

The Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation was established in the Institute in January, 2006 in the Interim Hospital Facility. The Department was shifted to the main campus at Mawdiangdiang on 12th June, 2006. Indoor facility was initially started in the Surgical Speciality Ward till the separate Urology Ward was opened on 1st March, 2007.
The Department OPD is located on the 2nd Floor, above the MRD. Six rooms were allocated to the Department.

Patient Services

• The Department runs OPD twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9AM to 4PM. Routine O.T is once a week on Monday.
• Minor procedures are done on Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays in the Minor O.T (Room No. 206) in OPD Block. The services provided are out-patient, in-patient, operation and emergency services.

Academic Activities and Training

The Department conducts regular ward round discussions, journal reviews and seminars. The department is also involved in teaching programmes of BSc. Nursing students of the College of Nursing.
